The copper fan boat was built in the summer of 2004, it was originally developed for water but was never finished in time to be tested. It was finally finished and used on snow. Using only aerodynamic steering and having little tracking makes it very fun to drive. It is capable of very high speeds if giventhe right surface. Control techniques vary greatly from most other vehicles as full throttle is nessesary for turning. While we were testing it this became an issue, the crash can be found under videos. (coming soon)
You can see our fine soldering job, the copper was used because it is very easy to solder to. In the center is the radio compartment, which can be made water tight with latex foam.
In our repair job to the fins we used what else, copper! But due to the wieght now I don't think it will float, so we are limited to use on snow.
